last few weeks have been the busiest we have known and
we have really only had time and energy to focus on
the report.
COMMENTARY: ‘GREED BREEDS
MEAN DEEDS’ We
welcome the news that Americans are so sick of corporate
greed that, "swept up by a wave of populist economic
anger, the US House of Representatives overwhelmingly
voted on Thursday to slap a 90 per cent tax on bonuses
at bailed-out firms like insurer AIG." Some say
it is the ugly face of capitalism gone mad. In the old
days we rightly gave credit to energetic entrepreneurs
who built up and managed family businesses brilliantly.
Some made big fortunes; that was the American way. But
they provided employment to thousands and collectively
to millions of people. Many of the best ones had a strong
sense of civic responsibility and genuine pride in their
products. But it appears the last ten years of the post-capitalist
era has been about those 'corporate asset strippers'
who take over huge industries, sack all the workers
and sell the assets and close down the business. And
we have seen the emergence of a new breed of 'carpetbagging
merchant bankers' who have no natural relationship to
a product, a company or to a community. There was also
the criminal negligence and governmental incompetence
in not controlling their growth and the practice of
hired executives
of public companies paying themselves millions of dollars
per year some twenty to fifty times, to a hundred times
more than the president and leaders of other nations
get annually. Hopefully the present post-capitalist
situation will see a collective shift away from too
much greed, too much selfishness, too much materialism
which bring so much suffering. We must never forget
spiritual reality that all material life will inevitably
pass and the greater life in the afterlife dimension
will be another new beginning for us.

AN 'AUSTRIAN' PROBLEM?Josef Fritzl. Many commentators are
pointing out that Austria produced Hitler who caused
some 50,000,000 casualties in World
War Two.
At the other extreme Austria was the home of the Von
Trapp family of The Sound of Music fame - who kept hundreds
of millions around the world fascinated with music and
nuns for so long. Austria also gave us Arnold Schwarzenegger
- the actor who is now playing the role of a politician

dark dungeon for some 25 years. One enquirer asked me
what's likely

when he dies - for his horrible and most atrocious crimes
against his own family members? We know from near-death
experience research that during the life review we get
to experience the effect of our every thought word and

commit heinous crimes are punished and will carry with
them huge karmic consequences.

a judge, I wanted him to assist in a matter concerning
